Biograophy
Rika Odendal is an esteemed Associate within the Family Law/Litigation Department at our firm.
Having commenced her career with the predecessor of BDP Inc. in 2004 as an Assistant, Rika’s expertise flourished as she actively contributed to the Corporate and Commercial Department until 2010. It was during this time that she transitioned to George de Beer’s Family Law Practice, assuming the role of Senior Assistant, and igniting her profound passion for family-related matters.
Her academic journey began at the University of South Africa in 2017, where she embarked on her LLB Degree and Clerkship simultaneously, solidifying her dedication to legal excellence. In November 2021, she proudly obtained her LLB degree from the University of South Africa.
Rika’s commitment to the legal profession culminated in her admission as a Legal Practitioner and enrolment as an Attorney of the High Court of South Africa in September 2022.
With a focused interest in Family Law, particularly in safeguarding children’s rights and parental rights, Rika has honed her expertise in these areas. Under the mentorship of George de Beer, she has amassed invaluable experience in family-related issues, domestic relations, insolvency law, general litigation, and the meticulous drafting and negotiation of various contracts and legal documents over the past decade.
In April 2024, she participated in and completed the Family and Divorce Mediation training through FAMAC, the FAMILY MEDIATORS ASSOCIATION OF THE CAPE.
